Nine Mile Run

Nine Mile Run is a stream that runs through Frick Park on the eastern edge of the City of Pittsburgh. The stream suffers pollution from runoff, sewer overflows, and litter.

Frick Park is a popular place for outdoor activities. The trails and paths around Nine Mile Run are popular spots for hiking, running, biking, and walking dogs. However, the pollution in the stream makes the area less pleasant for visitors to the park.

Currently, the Nine Mile Run Watershed Association is working on several clean up projects to restore the stream to its natural state. It is important that the stream is cleaned up because the pollution has a negative effect on the city, its people, and the local environment.
